  • Lisa Hoglund, Executive Director
    Lisa is a life-long resident of Ladner with an extensive background working in community engagement and development. Having started out in the advertising and public relations sector, Lisa went on to become the Manager of Marketing and Communications at BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Foundation, holding responsibility for event management and a range of donor engagement activities. From here, Lisa worked locally for the Delta School District where she was key in the development of a student recruitment and retention strategy for the district, including the development of academy programmes. Lisa went on to become the Manager of Fundraising at the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast BC, managing grants, major giving and event management, before starting with Delta Hospital Foundation in January 2012. With two young children of her own growing up in Ladner, Lisa loves being able to work for the local community and Delta Hospital Foundation, raising funds to enhance medical services and support an excellent level of patient care.
  • Angela Turner, Major Giving Manager
    Angela joined Delta Hospital Foundation as our Major Giving Manager in 2017. Angela has a background in fund development, community engagement and donor relations. After graduating from the University of Northern British Columbia, Angela began a career in sales and marketing. Angela’s interest in the non-profit sector grew as she began volunteering in her spare time as a crisis line support worker and fundraiser. In 2004, Angela decided to fulfill her passion for charitable work and entered the non-profit sector. Angela worked with Canadian Blood Services for eight years, starting in donor recruitment and community development, and progressing into a leadership role in Donor Relations. Prior to joining Delta Hospital Foundation Angela fundraised on behalf of Coast Mental Health Foundation and CKNW Orphans’ Fund with a specific focus on corporate, foundation and individual major gifts. Angela lives in Tsawwassen with her husband and two daughters, and is thrilled to be working with Delta Hospital Foundation to support the delivery of outstanding healthcare in our community.
  • Sharla De Groote, Special Events Manager
    Sharla has been Delta Hospital Foundation’s Special Events Manager for over three years managing our signature events and producing record breaking fundraisers to support Delta Hospital. Sharla has over 18 years experience in marketing, public relations and event management. Sharla began her career working in the software industry then through volunteering with the MS Society was drawn to the non-profit field. She worked with the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation for nine years on the Donor Relations & Events Team helping fundraise through production of donor recognition, cultivation, media and fundraising events. As Associate Director of Donor Relations & Events, she focused on improving outcomes for the Foundation's signature fundraisers: Night of a Thousand Stars Gala and the Mr. Lube Tournament for Life golf tournament. Under her guidance the golf tournament net revenue increased by 138% and the gala grew from an event that net $180,000 to one that raised $2 million in 2013. Prior to arriving in Delta Sharla was a consultant for Richmond Hospital Foundation where she was brought on to help plan their annual golf tournament, the result was a record breaking fundraising event. Born and raised in a small town on Vancouver Island Sharla is happy to be back working with and within a tight knit community. As Manager of Special Events at Delta Hospital Foundation Sharla has used her experience to increase awareness and funds raised in support of our community hospital.
  • Shari Barr, Annual Giving Manager
    Shari has spent most of her life living in Delta, growing up in North Delta and moving to Ladner a few years ago where her two children attend high school.

    Shari has a long history of working in the field of recruitment and human resources. Prior to joining the Delta Hospital Foundation team in 2012 as our Donor Relations Coordinator, she worked for nine years at Fraser Health in a human resources role. This involved coordinating recruitment across the entire Fraser Health catchment area, including for Delta Hospital. In her role at DHF, she is able to use her local knowledge and her vast experience with database management to link with our donors and ensure our hospital is well supported.

    Shari loves the interconnectedness of our community and being able to interact in different capacities, both as a member of Delta Hospital Foundation and as a local resident. Shari is inspired by the many wonderful donors that she gets to interact with daily, and who share her passion for both the hospital and the local community.
  • Cathy Trafford, Financial Administrator
    Cathy has lived in Delta for most of her life, growing up in Tsawwassen and later moving to Ladner to raise her family. Over this time, she has witnessed much change and growth in the community. Cathy has many years of accounting experience, starting with her first ever job at George Hodgins Realty Ltd. She joined the Delta Hospital Foundation in October 2011, and is proud to work in the community of Delta, helping to support and raise funds for our hospital.
  • Theresa Bamford, Marketing & Communications Coordinator
    Theresa Bamford worked with the Delta Hospital Foundation from 2015-2016, designing print collateral for the 2 major fundraising events, Moonlight Gala and the Century Group Delta Health Classic. When the opportunity presented itself, she applied to become their Marketing and Communications person and is pleased to be able to report, that this is, indeed, exactly what has happened. Over the past fifteen years, Theresa has worked with and for a variety of local and national clients. Of note, she worked for PRN Solutions producing engaging and informative public health care programs and marketing materials for retail pharmacies in Canada including Calgary Co-op pharmacies and Safeway Canada pharmacy. She has also worked with local non-profit organizations like the Delta Hospice and the Delta Arts Council. Theresa recognizes the importance of brand development, brand consistency and brand elevation. She has spent her career, thus far, attempting to achieve all three of these lofty goals for her clients. Theresa is excited to be joining the wonderful staff at the Delta Hospital Foundation and to be able the focus her energy in a singular direction – to help raise funds for Delta Hospital. Theresa is married to a local high school teacher and has a teenage son named Sam. She often spends her free time walking in various parks and wildlife refuge areas around the Lower Mainland and sometimes further looking for the last identified rare bird. Her husband is a birder and, as they say, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em!
  • Christine Bramwell, Foundation Assistant
    Christine Bramwell brings many years of non-profit administrative experience to the role of Foundation Assistant. Prior to coming to DHF, Christine was an Administrative Assistant for UVIC’s Institute on Aging & Lifelong Health. Her experience working with board of directors, and overall office management expertise will be a valuable addition to our team. Christine and her family have been Ladner residents since 2004. She looks forward to working in her community and being part of our dynamic team. Christine will be at our front desk so please drop by our office to say hello!
